How do you find out whether the Winter Swimmers have "BB" Times?
1. If your swimmer participated on a year round USA Swimming sanctioned club (i.e. Excel, NAC, POST, MTSC):
Visit USA Swimming Times Database and Search for your swimmer:
A. Click on http://www.usaswimming.org/USASWeb/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=358&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en-US
Type in Swimmers First and Last Name.
Choose a date range (8/1/2007 to 5/30/2008)
Select event as "SCY Events" (Short Course Yards)
Select "only show the fastest time by event"
Click on "Search" button.
After you click on search, multiple similar names may appear in the table at the bottom of the page, select the one with your swimmer based on what team they swam for this winter. Click "continue" to the right of the swimmers team to see their times.
Compare those times with the files showing motivational times which are posted on Red Book page of the NSL website (2008 Motivational Times-Top 16 or the 8&Under Time Standards). **Make sure you compare yards results to the yards page of the Motivational Times listing. The Motivational Times covers Long Course Meters, Short Course Yards, and Short Course Meters.
B. You can also visit any of the year-round clubs websites. All tend to post meet results which you can search through.
2. If your swimmer participated in High School or Middle School Meets this winter, here are some sites to visit to search for your swimmer:
A. Tennessee High School State Meet Results - www.TISCA.net
B. 2007 MTHSSA High School Region Meet Results - www.MTHSSA.net
C. Middle School and High School Invitationals - Visit www.ExcelAquatics.org/age_group
You may also need to contact your swimmer's high school coach to ask for times. Visit www.MTHSSA.net to find a listing of teams and coaching contacts.
3. If your swimmers participated in YMCA sanctioned meets, please contact their YMCA coach for records of their times.
It is the coaches responsibility to do the necessary work to determine if you winter swimmers have BB times.
